Bosnalijek d.d. and the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Sarajevo have entered a new phase of cooperation by signing a Framework Agreement on Long-term Cooperation, opening the door to numerous joint initiatives that will strengthen the connection between academia and the pharmaceutical industry.
The Agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Una Glamočlija, Head of the Scientific Research Department at Bosnalijek, and Prof. Dr. Mirza Dedić, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Sarajevo, reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing education, scientific research, and creating new opportunities for future generations of pharmacists.
This partnership represents an important step in connecting Bosnia and Herzegovina's largest domestic pharmaceutical company with its oldest higher education institution dedicated to pharmaceutical education. Through this collaboration, students will have the opportunity to complement their theoretical knowledge with practical experience by actively participating in research and development projects under the mentorship of Bosnalijek experts.
A special focus of the cooperation will be the further development of Bosnalijek as a teaching and research base. Students of the Faculty of Pharmacy will gain first-hand insight into modern pharmaceutical research and manufacturing processes while developing professional competencies through internships, mentorship, and involvement in research and development activities.
The cooperation will also include joint applications for national and international projects, as well as the organization of professional conferences, workshops, and educational programmes. Among the first planned joint activities is the Bosnalijek Winter School for Pharmacists, scheduled to take place at the end of 2026.
By signing this Agreement, Bosnalijek and the Faculty of
Pharmacy reaffirm their commitment to strengthening the link between science
and industry, creating better educational opportunities for young
professionals, and contributing to the development of innovations that will
have a lasting impact on the healthcare sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
